When you create a Klovr account, we collect your email address, name, and password. For OAuth sign-ups, we receive basic profile information from the authentication provider.
API Usage Data
We log API requests including: timestamp, API key used, source URLs converted, response times, and error messages. This data is used for billing, rate limiting, analytics, and service improvement.
Payment Information
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers. We retain billing addresses and payment method types for invoicing purposes.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the Klovr API service
- To process and track your API usage for billing
- To enforce rate limits and prevent abuse
- To send you service updates and billing notifications
- To analyze and improve our service performance
- To comply with legal obligations
3. Data Retention
We retain your data as follows:
- Account data: Until account deletion
- API usage logs: 90 days for operational needs, 7 years for billing records
- Converted content: Not stored (cached for 1 hour, then deleted)
- Payment records: 7 years for tax and accounting compliance
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these cases:
- Service Providers: Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), Stripe (payments)
- Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights
- Business Transfers: In case of merger, acquisition, or asset sale
5. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted database storage, API key hashing, rate limiting, and regular security audits. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
